About Susan

I am a lover of all creatures big and small! I know first-hand that touch is essential to comfort, conditioning and healing in dogs.

I experienced this with my own border terrier, Huntley. I used gentle massage and passive range of motion to relieve his stiffness and pain from arthritis, helping him to age gracefully.

I am a Certified Canine Massage practitioner with accreditation through the Small Animal Massage Certification Program at Bancroft School of Massage Therapy. I’m an experienced dog handler and a Fear Free® Certified professional trained to prevent and alleviate fear, anxiety and stress in pets.

Working with dogs and their owners is a meaningful way to serve my community, neighbors and friends. In 2008, I began volunteering as a canine companion with the SPCA conducting enrichment training, socialization and command practice with dogs awaiting their fur-ever homes.

I also volunteer my massage skills to the canine community at Guiding Eyes for the Blind where massage is valued to improve familiarity and responsiveness to touch, enhancing the health and well-being of these special service dogs. I also participate in their Home Foster program providing a safe and loving home to a guide-dog-in-training.

I am in service to my truly heart-centered calling, which brings me immense joy each day. I appreciate the opportunity to give back what our dogs give us so freely through their own affection, companionship and good nature.

I hope my service brings as much value to your life and the life of your beloved dog as it does to mine.
